Muladhara or root chakra
the first chakra is represented by the color red.
it is located at the base of the spine.
if our root chakra is off, all of our energies are bound to be out of alignment. It is vital to keep our Muladhara chakra open and clear.
Even positive events in life can lift our grounding spirit out of it’s peaceable rooted nature. “Walking on air” is a nice feeling, but getting stuck up there is dysfunctional.
In my personal experience, the root chakra responds best to physical & assertive messages more so than any of the other chakras do.
Louder pranayama practices, (ujayi for instance), riggorous asana practice, high impact physical activity (speed walking/running), and a really structured physical care plan (bed time, wake time, morning eating time, afternoon eating time, evening eating time, work out times, meditation times, reading times), the idea being HOMEOSTASIS.
The root chakra craves GROUNDING/ROOTING and a feeling of connectedness with it’s natural rhythm. OUR EGOS have allowed us to get out of that rhythm and it often seems conceptually confusing to ever feel “normal” again. It isn’t.
It all starts with the root chakra.
Get back in a very basic routine.
Luckily it is almost Valentines day too, so we will be seeing a LOT of RED (which is a color favored by our Muladhara chakra whether you have a Valentine or not!)
